Over the weekend I felt something kinda pokey on the left side of my mouth, right by the hole where I once had a tooth. I thought at first it was a knotted bit of stitching that was still working its way out, but it turns out it was actually a piece of bone.
That’s right, a little piece of bone pushing through my gums. I finally got back to the ghetto dentist today where I was assured that this was all perfectly normal (I was not, however, reassured when the doctor described the bone cavity around teeth as being “like eggshell”). Do you know what they call those fragments of bone? Floaters. Here’s hoping there aren’t any more.
